Privacy Policy
One Foot is designed to track walks without requiring an account or uploading your complete walk history to us.
What One Foot accesses and creates
When you record a walk, One Foot may access precise location, physical-activity or motion data, and device time. It uses these signals to create route points and calculate distance, steps, active time, pace, elevation, goals, and streaks. The app also stores the goals, settings, and route-retention choices you select.
Where your walk data is stored
Your complete walk records, routes, goals, and settings are stored locally on your device. One Foot does not require an account and does not provide cloud synchronization. Android system backup is disabled for the app. If you choose Back up now, One Foot creates a portable JSON file at a location you select. You control that file and any copies you make.
Limited network processing
One Foot uses Google Maps services to display maps. Google may receive technical information that ordinarily accompanies those requests, such as your device’s network address and app or device information, under the Google Privacy Policy.
On versions that offer Clean route, nothing is sent for that feature unless you select it. One Foot samples every tenth point from that walk, including the endpoints, and sends only those sampled coordinates through a One Foot service to Google Roads to create a temporary preview. The complete saved route is not sent by this feature, the preview never replaces the original track, and the One Foot service does not log coordinates. Operational logs contain a random request identifier, status, point counts, and processing time. Short-lived rate limiting may process a network address in memory; quota records contain only daily and monthly request counts.
What One Foot does not do
- No advertising or behavioral tracking.
- No analytics SDK.
- No sale of personal information.
- No account, public profile, or automatic social sharing.
- No access to your photos or camera in the Android Beta 1 release.
Permissions and your choices
Location and activity or motion permissions are used only for walking features. You may deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, but walk tracking may not function. Notifications and foreground-service controls may be used to keep an active Android walk visible and reliable. You decide whether to use route cleanup and whether to create or import a backup.
Retention and deletion
Walk records remain on your device until you delete them, apply a retention control, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. After you delete a walk, One Foot briefly offers Undo; when that period ends, the private walk detail is removed and only a minimal local tombstone remains to prevent an old backup from silently restoring the deleted record. One Foot cannot delete backup files you saved outside the app; remove those with your device’s file manager or storage provider.
Security
One Foot limits collection, keeps complete walk history local, uses HTTPS for supported network features, and keeps paid service credentials out of the mobile app. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so keep your device and exported backups protected.
Children
One Foot is a general wellness and fitness app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or cloud profile.

One Foot is intended for general wellness and activity tracking. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as One Foot changes. We will revise the effective date on this page, and material changes will be disclosed through the app or its store listing when appropriate.
